something simple: add Shortcut to the desktop or Taskbar?

Simple things seems to be hard to do with SLES 12

Do we have to start Start again & re-learn - simple basic things like adding a Shortcut to the desktop
or Applications Menu

I mean … How do you add a Virtual Machine manager shortcut to the desktop
or click an item and add it to Favorites or Recent !

Amazingly difficult :frowning:

Search in the overview and right-clcik and add to favorites. In the gnome tweak tool (via system settings) enable desktop icons, then drag and drop to the desktop (or ~/Desktop folder via Nautilus) from /usr/share/applications or cp from commandline. Install and use alacarte for your own customized desktop (shortcuts) files.
