Hello, everyone!
Today is a historic day for SUSE, Rancher Labs, open source software and the developers and users of that software. After SUSE’s announcement in July of a definitive agreement to acquire Rancher Labs, we are excited to confirm the deal has been completed and SUSE and Rancher Labs are now one company. We are on our way to becoming the global leader in true open source innovation!
Today’s article in Forbes makes clear what the combination of SUSE and Rancher will do for business and community, as does an insightful Forrester Wave report by Dave Bartoletti.
As a combined company, our goal is to turn customers into innovation heroes and to give them the power to innovate everywhere. We will continue to offer possibilities that know no limitations – from the data center, to the cloud, to the edge and beyond.
Working alongside open source developers of all stripes, SUSE has brought “open” back to open source, as our truly open model means freedom of choice to customers with no vendor lock-in. SUSE and Rancher will deliver innovation users can trust with the union of our best-in-class Linux operating system, market-leading Kubernetes management platform and host of innovative edge products, allowing customers to deliver innovation everywhere at the pace they need to go.
That said, what does the newly merged SUSE mean for you as a member of the Rancher Community?
Rest assured you will continue to receive the same benefits you’ve enjoyed as part of the Rancher Community. And soon you will gain even more as we combine forces with our friends at SUSE to create one, unified community. The new combined SUSE and Rancher Community will bring together developers, operators and DevOps teams to learn how to deploy and manage Kubernetes everywhere, apply cloud native principles and methodologies, and experiment with new ideas and technology. Members of the new community will unleash the resilience, quality, agility and velocity that cloud native promises. This will be a home for a broad range of topics and concerns where our members will receive the best opportunities to learn, contribute and prepare for a bright future.
Stay tuned for the launch of the combined SUSE and Rancher Community coming soon.
We will continue to share information and updates in the coming months about how we are proceeding with the integration of SUSE and Rancher while finding new ways to enhance your ability to share, learn and contribute. Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions at news@rancher.com. We appreciate your involvement and contributions to SUSE and Rancher, and we look forward to great things to come.
Best regards,
