Ok. So my nice shiny brand new Transformer Prime 201 arrived Friday.
The keyboard arrived yesterday. I’ve been thinking good thoughts about
it so far. I’ve been trying to get activesync working without much luck.
What app works? I tried Enhanced Email by Quantum. I don’t get an Inbox
and it won’t talk to the calendar.
It’s kind of funny. I didn’t even blink when I dropped over a $100.00 to
get the keyboard. It took a couple of days to decide to spend the $10.00
for Enhanced Email.

I have a Transformer TF101, don’t do mail on it… I can connect as an
mtp device, but it’s just easier to use sftp on my home network. I can
run an ssh server on it if elsewhere. Connects to my twonkymedia server
running on SLES without problems. Just an all round multi purpose
machine for surfing and playing angry birds

We are using Groupwise. This got pretty close: http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/asus-transformer-help/4002-

Apparently the native app should work. Drat. Blew 10 bucks.
If I can’t get it to work there is always WebAcc which is decent enough.
I haven’t gotten to ssh yet. I do have VNC. I’m looking at TeamViewer.
I’ve heard good things about it.
Angry Birds is further down on my list. I did find pinball though. We
have Slingbox through Dish. It’s kind of cool to watch TV on it. Too
bad there is so little that’s worth while. Or maybe that’s a good thing.
forget teamviewer for connecting to a linux box, have tried it and found
it to not be reliable, doesn’t run as a service as it’s just a port of
the windows one using wine…
teamviewer on windows works a treat though, for linux just use ssh or
vnc

I’ve found it to be quite reliable myself. Got it running on several
openSUSE 12.1 boxes and my OES2 box. Never had a problem getting
connected.

Don’t use VNC in the clear, though. It’s easily hacked.

I would like to get OpenVPN working but from what I’ve read I need to
root it to make it work. I’d rather not do that. I saw another VPN app
but I haven’t had a chance to see if it will work with OpenVPN yet.

Yeah, openvpn requires root, because it adds a tap/tun driver & interface
to the mix. It works quite well, got my router configured with openvpn
and my Android phone connects with no trouble.
As does my laptop, when I don’t have the hosts file pointing to the local
address (which matches the DNS name for the external address).

Bob,
I bought my prime quite a while ago now and I am so happy with it.
There is many a time I just take it to a customers site and am able to
do what I need to.
I heard there is an app that you can use for VPN that does not need to
root the device for VPN if you are running ICS
