Hi

I am new to Linux.
Recently I updated to SLES 12 SP1 from SLES 12, garbage boxed character. Please see screenshot

Unless you are using SAP on this box, this forum is probably not the best
one for your question. Even if you are using SAP stuff, this looks like a
general Gnome issue, vs. anything specific to SAP. As a result, I would
recommend posting in one of the other SLES forums to possibly get more
viewers who may be able to help.

In the meantime, have you tried rebooting? What do you see at the command
line (vs. the GUI/Gnome) which you can access by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 at
the same time? Is this Prod or QA or Dev, and have you seen this with
other versions?

I’ve done a few SLES 12 to SLES 12 SP1 upgrades and never noticed this,
but most of the servers do not have a GUI running full time, so maybe I
have missed it.
