Upgrade from SLES10 SP3 32bit to SLES11SP2 64bit

Hi,
I am looking for a procedure or whitepaper on how to upgrade SLES10sp3 32bit OS to SLES11SP2 64bit OS if the hardware supports 64bit operating system. Can this be performed? Please help me with the answer or direct me to any link.

Regards,
Sanjay

I don’t believe it’s supported to upgrade 32-bit in-place to 64-bit
although it’s not called out in the documentation @
https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles11/book_sle_deployment/data/sec_update_sle10sp4-sle11sp2.html
but I’ll ask SUSE.

As I suspected, SUSE said that upgrading SLES (or SLED for that matter)
from a 32-bit version to 64-bit in-place is not supported. Migration to
a new server (or desktop for SLED) is the supported path.

The new server (or desktop) could be a physical or virtual machine.

Do you work with SUSE technologies at a university, college or school?
If so, your campus could benefit from joining the Technology Transfer
Partner (TTP) program. See TTP Organization | Micro Focus for more details.

Thanks a lot. Your reply helps to move forward in right direction.
