Windows 7 slow logins

Hello,

I have a computer lab setup and pointed to a Samba server for domain and file sharing. For some reason when a user logs in it takes up to two minutes and after enabling logging I see it is taking the most amount of time on “waiting on user profile service”. I don’t want to use roaming profiles at all and I feel like maybe the machine is communicating with the samba server way more than it needs to or something. Someone else setup the smb.conf originally and all they have in there for user profiles I can find is:

This line disables roaming profiles

logon drive = H:
login script = logon.bat
guests = No

Any ideas?
