RancherOS is installed on bare-metal (desktop pc), from 0.4.5 iso. First command was sudo ros os upgrade.
After reboot, I have no network access.
I have a login prompt, but I didn’t set up a password, is there a default one set?

rancher
?
that would be the username, yes. but the password?
Can you try rancher
/rancher
?
By default, password is rancher
too.
The rancher/rancher combination only works on the “live CD”. Once installed, the rancher password is no longer valid. The username is still rancher though.
Regardless. Why doesn’t the network work after the upgrade?
0.5 release notes:

- You will not be able to roll back from v0.5.0 to v0.4.x.
