Does Novell allow upgrade from 11 SP3 to 12?

I have 3 years (another 1-1/2 currently, I believe) on my SLED 11 SP3. I am trying to find a couple of things:

  1. Does the 3 year purchase include an upgrade from SLED 11 SP3 to SLED 12 (or, current version) or do I have to purchase a new license for SLED 12? and

  2. Download area for SLED 12.

Thank you.

SLED licenses are not version specific.

SLED isos can be found at https://download.suse.com

Novell doesn’t allow or disallow anything about SLED these days. SLED is a SUSE product. SUSE and Novell are brands owned by the same parent company, which as of late last year is Micro Focus https://www.suse.com/company/press/2014/11/micro-focus-international-completes-merger-with-the-attachmate-group.html

Thank you, once again, Mr. Willis :). Do you know if there is an SDK released, like in 11.3 SP3? I’ve been searching but have not found one. If not, do the openSUSE 12.1 repos work for other software?

YaST > Support > SUSE Customer Centre Configuration, assuming the machine is registered there’s a box there you can tick to add the SDK repos.

Or you can download the ISO from https://download.suse.com/ Select ‘SUSE Linux Enterprise Software Development Kit’ in the first drop-down and ‘SUSE Linux Enterprise Software Development Kit 12’ in the second. Once you’ve downloaded the ISO go to YaST > Software > Add-On Products, select the ISO the ISO will be added as a repo and the SDK update repo should also be added.
