Hello,
I’ve read, that samba 3.6 is EOL:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_Release_Planning
How will SuSE provide security patches in future?
Is samba 4.1/2 planned for SLES11?
Thanks
Meike

See here: https://www.suse.com/support/policy.html & https://www.suse.com/lifecycle/ → SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
Usually they backport security fixes during the products lifecycle.

SUSE don’t change major releases of packages during the lifecycle of a
particular release of SLES. What they’ll do is backport security fixes
from later releases into earlier versions.
SLES12 does include Samba 4.1.12 (which includes fixes from later 4.1.x
releases).
