Hi

I am a new Linux user i want to know is it possible to install windows setup.exe on SUSE desktop?if it is possible how?

Without further details the answer can only be ‘maybe’. Some Windows applications will work with WINE. Some will partially work. Some will not work at all. Before trying to install Windows applications the first thing to do is find a Linux application that does what you want.

‘SUSE desktop’ could refer to various versions of Linux and not necessarily SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop. To enable people to better assist, please could you post the output of

$ cat /etc/*release*

SLED 11 SP2 is End Of Life. The currently supported version is SLED 11 SP3. Unless there is a particular reason you need SP2, the first thing to do is update to SP3. Instructions on how to do that can be found at

Though if you’ve only just installed the machine you might do better to just wipe it and do a clean install with SP3. You can get the ISOs from https://download.suse.com/Download?buildid=Nw5At9_UZaA~

Wine is not included with SLED but http://en.opensuse.org/Wine has details of Wine repositories for SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2 and SP3. Or go the codeweavers route as Malcom suggested. You can find information about how well various applications work with Wine at https://appdb.winehq.org/ But as I and Malcolm both said, first thing to do is look for a Linux equivalent of the application.
