Our client is running a number of SUSE SLES 11 SP4 servers on their company intranet without Internet connection. It means they cannot connect to the official update repository at Novell or the SuSE customer center.
We would like to set up a local update repository based on the official one so that we can use zypper to apply recommended patches to the server on a regular basis. Kindly would anyone please point us to the relevant documents, notes or URL resources on how to do so.

Will the server hosting the local update repository have access to the
internet?
If so, you have two supported options:
buy SUSE Manager - this an additional cost that is an add-on for SLES
install Subscription Management Tool (SMT) - this is a free option
that is included with SLES12 SP1 (but also available free as an add-on
for earlier versions of SLES)
If the update server will not have access to the internet then providing
timely updates is quickly going to become a pain for someone!

For updating “pure” SLES you can (and should) sync against the
SUSE Customer Center.
