I made a 12 sp3 suse enterprise installation on a Dell server. I am now stuck because unable to trace network interfaces. I tried to edit the interface file. I tried to reinstall network-manager but each network-manager service seems unrecognized or the service network is unrecognized. I went through yast, by network tool but every time I am blocked.
My last manipulation in date recreating an interface corresponding to the location of the cable allowed me to recover the icon but I am still unable to ping the outside.
I mention that suse support and Dell sent me back to you.
Thank you in advance for your prompt response.
Hi and welcome to the Forum
If you use YaST Network Settings and check on the general tab that the service to use is NetworkManager and not the wicked service? You should then have the/see the NetworkManager icon on your desktop?
For openSUSE issues you may want to post in the openSUSE forums, at https://forums.opensuse.org/ which uses the same set of credentials for
the forums as SUSE; these forums, though, are for SUSE Linux Enterprise,
not openSUSE.
