I used the x2go repositories from packages.x2go.org towards the bottom of the page.
They installed fine but when I try and connect to it from a Windows 7 desktop with the x2go client, it attempts to start the gnome sessions and then fails. I see this in the system log:

x2go doesn’t seem to work well with recent versions of gnome https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:de-compat
Might be worth to try xfce or some other compatible desktop environmens.
