Offline upgrade SLES 15 with EFI

Hello,

I’m trying to do upgrade of my SLES SP1 to SP2.

As my SP1 is build under EFI, I cannot use standard BIOS.

I have found that I have hit “E” over the upgrade and then I can insert some boot parameters.
Unfortunately media_upgrade=1 doesn’t work at all (in BIOS mode it’s working fine).

Do you know how can I use installation media instead of network upgrade uin EFI mode?

I believe that I should insert some parameter here

I found a solution finally!

I don’t know why they do not describe that clearly in the documentation.

9hrs I was looking for that!

You have to remove splash=silent and behind upgrade insert media_upgrade=1
