Hi,
we have a CUPS 1.5.x Server and we can only print from commandline using lp. Trying to print from GUI, the dialog shows a status “Getting printer information failed” and the Print button stays insensitive. Any clues?
Best Regards,
Oliver

Hi and welcome to the Forum
So if you login to the printserver ip address and port 631 what is the status, can you see the jobs spooling there?
What is the actual release of SLES? When you say GUI, this is a desktop, a remote one, local on the print server?
cat /etc/SuSE-release
