just to make sure: When you ran fsck manually, you included the “-f” switch to force checking the file system? Sometimes the file system state appears to be healthy, so fsck will skip most of the tests and return with a positive response. OTOH, the power hit may have caused some FS error burried far down in the FS, so a full scan is required, even if the FS’s meta data suggested a proper shutdown.
