we have got same problem on SLES11.
some systemcalls (for example fsockopen in php) do ipv6-dns-requests →
and this slows down, because we do not use ipv6 yet.
we disabled all ipv6 modules in the kernel - now it looks better.
but:
it can not be normal that I have to disable ipv6 to speed up
dns-requests.
