Reboot/shutdown hangs on "turning off SWAP"

Hello Everyone,

I have deployed SLES 11 SP3 on HP GEN9 BL460C blades. It was working fine for more than 2 months but I am now facing a strange issue where the system hangs during shutdown at the message “turning of swap” and it has to be powered off manually.

This problem is there with almost every reboot now. I am not able to identify the resolution of this problem. Request you to please suggest something in this matter.

If you running network files sharing? Please try to turn off swap and then close applications, then unmount file systems, then reboot.

I thinking some applications used disk caching.
