SLED11SP1 update to SLED11SP2

Good day, I tried to post this before, but was not sure why it did not work. That being said, here is my dilemma, I have been using SLED11SP1 without any issues when I tried the migration process my video failed. I tried to lock the current video settings, after I reinstalled my software again, however; the video broke again, though I could reset it to 1400x990. Then my wireless network card would not initialize, is there anything that I can do to ensure that I can update, but yet not disable my system? I will provide more information as requested.

Thank you,

We’d need to know more about your hardware. Can you post the output

$ /sbin/lspci -knn

When posting the output wrap it in code tags for readability. (Look for the # button when composing your post.)

The output of this might be useful too.

$ zypper lr -u

as would any error messages you’re seeing.

The output to the /sbin/lspci -knn

Well you appear to still be running SP1 and the graphics and wifi are working (right?). To know what’s wrong and how to fix it we really need to see what state the machine is in after you’ve updated to SP2. If the hardware works in SP1 it should work in SP2.

When you updated to SP2 what process did you use and were there any errors or problems during the process?

This thread makes reference to someone using the fglrx driver having an issue during upgrade to SP2, so worth having a look at that.
