SLES12 updates via SMT mandatory?

Hi there,

as of SLES12 the normal mirroring via https://nu.novell.com/repo/repoindex.xml seems not to work any more. SLES12 is not listed there.
How can I mirror the update repos? I found in SCC this URL: https://updates.suse.com/SUSE/Updates/SLE-SERVER/12/x86_64/update
Is SMT mandatory for SLES12 updates?

But if I try to call this, I always get 403. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and best regards
Marco

Hi
You need to upgrade your SMT server to SLE 12…

Hi,

as of SLES version 11 and lower we could mirror the update repos via rsync. Is this not possible anymore?

Marco

When registering a SLES12 server to SUSE Customer Center (SCC) the
previously mentioned updates.suse.com URL includes a (seemingly random
but perhaps isn’t) long hexademical value as a variable.

I believe you have to either register and update servers directly
against SCC or indirectly against SMT pointing to SCC (as opposed to
Novell Customer Center).

Hi,

we have the same problem. But because of the SCC Help site (https://scc.suse.com/docs/help), this “should” work as before. So connect with “https://:@updates.suse.com/…”. I’ve given “feedback” to SuSE. We’ll have to wait for an answer.

Robert

Hi
We have also enabled an SCC subforum here;
https://forums.suse.com/forumdisplay.php?98-SUSE-Customer-Center

Feel free to start a new thread, it’s being monitored by the SCC
folks
