I tried both with the CD mounted and unmounted. Any suggestions ?

What other repos are available?

zypper lr -d

Does it get the info from the cd?

zypper if emacs

Have you tried deleting and re-adding the CD repository? Also have you
forced a repository refresh?

zypper ref --force
