bluetooth broken after update

just bought a laptop hp 630 with a licensed SLED 11.1 factory installation. i could access via bluetooth my samsung phone alright, at first, but after applying the patches bluetooth no longer works and while attempting to browse the phone i get the message:

Method “CreateBluetoothSession” with signature “sss” on interface “org.openobex.Manager” doesn’t exist

after some searches i got to grasp that it is a problem related to the obex-data-server package version . downgrading all the bluetooth related packages didn’t work. im clueless and lost at this point, any hints ? thanks in advance

Hi
What repositories are active on your system and also bluetooth and
obex files;

zypper lr
zypper se -i bluez
zypper se -i obex

So the phone and bluetooth connect ok?

Did you try deleting the pairing and re-pair?

phone and bluetooth successfully connected and transfered files only once (flawless), before the patches were applied. later, and up to this moment, phone can get paired with my laptop but not connected. in the network/bluetooth submenu of my samsung galaxy i9001 i see that my laptop, is as said, paired but not connected. i repeatedly erased my bluetooth settings and re-paired the devices but to no effect. the devices exchange the PIN, do their stuff and obtain the association thing, but that’s it. im on the linux boat since 2001 but it’s my first week dealing with bluetooth devices and Suse, so i still have to figure out things.
lotta thanks, Stefano

Hi
Unfortunately I’m running SLED 11 SP2, all seems to work fine from my
android device (ASUS Transformer TF101) to a HP ProBook 4525s

Since you have an active subscription, any thoughts on updating to SP2?

Is the obex service running (as your user)?

ps -ef |grep obex

Have you checked in the bluetooth settings to ensure the receive files
setting is ok?

service looks running.

about the file sharing settings under bluetooth, yes, double-checked.
control center->system->personal file sharing->bluetooth, enabled.

will try the SP2. thanks a lot for now, Stefano

Hi
AFAIK your update to SP2 would be from HP, please send a private message to user Arnaudk93 asking the procedure (He is a user but works for HP and can get you on the right track).

killing obexd and running obex-data-server --no-daemon the error situations disappears and i can browse the phone, which gets mounted and appears as device on the desktop BUT i only see directories , no files ; cannot upload or download any file; the cell phone results disconnected .

Hi
Did you find out about updating to SP2?

hp support for the upgrade of my product is currently broken. i have to wait for a fix or upgrade from disk. i am not resorting to that for now.
