SUSE Manager 2.1 SCC enabled
This is probably a stupid question but are the SUSE channels suppose to keep themselves upto date or is it a manual process to have the latest patches added ?

Yes, check under the Admin tab and Task Schedules and Task Engine
Status. On the right had column click the link to see the description
of what it does and a status.
You should also get emails if something doesn’t run properly.
