"create a new file" gone

Hello,

I noticed that the very useful menu option “create a new file…” is gone in right-click pop-up menu in SLE GNOME Desktop environment. I am just wondering, how shall we re-enable this option?

Thx a lot

Hi
No it’s there, just no defaults… In you home folder is the
‘Templates’ directory where you can create the files your wanting as
available via right click.

So for example open gedit then hit save and save the blank file to
~/Templates as say my_text_file and save.

Now right-click in Nautilus, there is a New Document entry and in the
list you will see my_text_file select and left click, your file is
created.
