We have moved our software from our first SuSE linux box to a new virtual system. I would like to move the registration as well so that I can install patches on the new system.
How do I do this? I haven’t been able to find anything describing how to do it. We don’t want to get a third license and the old box will be completely decommissioned/updated if I ever get this part done.

Is your SLES11 SP4 server registered to the Novell Customer Center
(NCC), SUSE Customer Center (SCC), or a local SUSE Manager or SMT server?
You should be able to de-register your server from wherever then
register your new (third) server in it’s place.

I can see the old system (to be de-registered) in the SCC. I did sniff around there earlier, but could not find a de-registration. Lots of pages that display or download information, only a manual register option. Or can I do this from the server side in Yast2 → NCC Configuration? I found a document (#3303599) called “Resetting the SUSE or Novell Customer Center system registration” (“suse_register -E” or follow steps 1-3 for SLES 11).

In the SCC click on the triple vertical dots to the right of the
system to be retired then click De-register.
On the server you should probably then remove, or at least
disable, the SCC-provided repos.
