A recent update to Nautilus added an icon to the Desktop called SUSE Linux Manual. If anyone’s wondering how to get rid of that set the gconf key /apps/nautilus/desktop/susedocs_icon_visible to false.
To set gconf keys
$ gconf-editor
or put ‘gnome config’ in to the Filter field of the Application Browser.

THANK YOU for this … I had tried about everything else to get rid of it and was pretty much out of options.
